Lead Economic Analyst for the New Force Movement, Hubert Baidoo says Members of Parliament do not have power to disapprove government’s decisions without the full backing of the constituents they represent. According to him, the will and power to cause change and promote development reside in Ghanaians who elect them to represent them in parliament.
“Members of Parliament are not there to serve themselves but are there to represent their constituents, the Ghanaian people”.
In an interview on the Happy Morning Show on Friday 13th September, 2024, Hubert Baidoo said, until Ghana decides to have a president who has the political will to change the country’s fortunes, Members of Parliament and politicians for that matter will continue to take decisions without recourse to what the people want.
He says it is time for Ghanaians to know that power belongs to them and only they can change the narrative.
