Independent presidential candidate, for the 2012 and 2016 general elections has said that the Ashanti Region as the stronghold of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has not benefited from Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo since assuming office as a President of Ghana.

According to him, the ruling Party has done little to ameliorate the lives of voters in the Region, therefore, electorates should consider the Nana Addo-led government out of governance.

“President Akufo-Addo deserves no praise, he is doing nothing for the people in this region. People in Ashanti Region deserve more from the NPP government. I don’t think that Nana Addo has done Ashanti Region any service. He deserves no praise nor commendation,” he told Kwame Afrifa-Mensah on Happy FM’s Epa Hoa Daben show.

He further opined that “the NPP government is deceiving Ghanaians in the Ashanti Region.”

On Monday, the Communications Director of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), in the Ashanti Region, Abass Nurudeen described President Akufo-Addo’s tour of the region last week as a waste of state resources.

Abass said the president’s visit was worthless because it never impacted the lives of the individuals positively.
