NDC will benefit from #FixTheCountry movement – Editor

Editor of the Ghanaian Publisher newspaper, Yaw Obeng Manu, has opined that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will have a political benefit from the #FixTheCountry movement.

He notes that while the idea behind the movement is for the greater good of the country, he has no doubt that the opposition NDC will greatly benefit from this.

Explaining this stance, he told Samuel Eshun on the Happy Morning Show: “We all will recall that Occupy Ghana brought attention on some of the things that we weren’t aware of. At least we can cite the bus branding as a major issue that Occupy Ghana drew the attention of the public to.

Ahead of elections 2016, with what Occupy Ghana exposed, who got the benefit? In the end there was a political benefit so let’s not hide from the fact that the NDC will have a political benefit.”

The editor while commending the #FixTheCountry conveners urged that for the country to be fixed, it must start with the small things such as our attitude as a people and that of our leaders.

Members of #FixTheCountry movement on 4th August 2021 embarked on a demonstration to express their displeasure at the failure of successive governments to fulfill their promises to the people.

The group has already been expressing its displeasure over successive governments’ failure to improve the living standards of Ghanaians on Twitter using the hashtag #FixTheCountry.

Among the new movement’s demands are more jobs, no corruption, fewer taxes, and better education.
