Member of Parliament for the Nkoranza South Constituency, Emmanuel Kwadwo Agyekum has expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Mrs. Lordina Mahama for her significant contributions towards the development of his constituency.

He acknowledged that while many credit him for the progress made in Nkoranza, much of the work would not have been possible without the support of Mrs. Lordina Mahama and her husband, former President John Dramani Mahama.

Speaking at the inauguration of the Lordina Mahama Maternity and Children’s Ward at the Nkoranza Health Center, on Friday September 6, 2024, Mr. Agyekum emphasized that there is hardly any major development in Nkoranza that he can claim responsibility for without acknowledging the Mahamas’ contributions.

He highlighted several achievements in the area, including the construction of schools in every community, the installation of traffic lights, the establishment of a police and a fire station, and the construction of one of the largest technical schools in Ghana plus many other CHPS compounds. However he lamented that the school could not be commissioned before the National Democratic Congress (NDC) lost power.

Mr. Agyekum estimated that 80% to 85% of the constituency’s developmental projects were realized with the help of the Mahamas. He also revealed a personal connection to the newly renovated maternity facility, as it was the very place where he was birthed.
