The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced the opening of nominations for its polling station elections from April 22 to April 24, 2026, marking the official take-off of the party’s internal electoral calendar.

The announcement was made by the party’s General Secretary, Justin Frimpong Kodua, during a press conference at the party’s headquarters in Accra on Wednesday, February 18, 2026.

Mr. Kodua explained that following the close of nominations, vetting of aspirants will take place from April 25 to April 30, 2026.

Appeals arising from the vetting process will be received from May 1 to May 4, 2026, with hearings scheduled between May 6 and May 9, 2026.

He stated that elections of polling station executives nationwide will be conducted from May 10 to May 16, 2026. This will be followed by data entry and validation of elected executives from May 17 to May 21, 2026.

The General Secretary further disclosed that nominations for Electoral Area elections will open from May 23 to May 25, 2026.

Vetting will run from May 26 to May 31, 2026, while appeals will be received from June 1 to June 4, 2026. Notices of poll are expected to be issued between June 5 and June 8, 2026.

Elections of Electoral Area executives are scheduled for June 10 to June 15, 2026, with data entry and validation set for June 16 to June 20, 2026.

Mr. Kodua added that constituency executive committees and regional steering committees will be responsible for managing the processes, under the oversight of the party’s National Secretariat.
