NUTA Calls On NPP Leadership

“Hope is important because it can make the present moment less difficult to bear. If we believe that tomorrow will be better, we can bear a hardship today” – Thich Nhat Hanh. There a saying that; “if tomorrow will be better look at this evening”. When hope is lost everything is lost, this is clearly the situation for many unemployed Tesconians currently. Hope has gradually vanished into thin air.
This is as result of the neglect by many of our government appointees in helping us get employment which we were promised.
Our Party has been in office for over a year and many “Tesconians” still ask if we are really in power. We acknowledge very well the efforts all our Party people played especially the youth (where the efforts of Tesconians cannot be over emphasized). We diligently worked with many Parliamentary candidates and Senior Party officials to ensure victory. We started the year 2017 with a lot hope and aspirations which has gradually diminished to the lowest level for many and completely lost for others.
It is in this regard that we the members of National Unemployed Tesconians Association (N.U.T.A) respectfully call on our party leadership to as a matter of urgency, call our appointees to order and remind them of where we are coming from as a Party. It’s clear from our body politics that taking good care of your own is very important. We recall that in the 2008 presidential runoff elections, Hon Christine Churcher had to kneel down to plead with fellow party people just to go out and vote after it became clear that a section of our own people decided not to go out and vote because of some of these same issues happening today. Recent viral video on social media which featured a young patriot openly burning party flag add more credence to the fact that many patriots have been neglected.
The young Tesconians sits in his or her parents’ house wondering if it was worth it sacrificing their grades, time, energy and resources for our great party, the high rate of unemployment among these Tesconians deserves urgent attention from our Party leadership. We acknowledge that much are being said on helping us secure employment but not much is being done in terms of actions, the situation is becoming alarming and urgent measures must be put in place to arrest the situation.
Many of us are the ones that defend the Party and the government at the grass root level, in taxis, trotros social media and social gatherings. Many of these unemployed Tesconians have therefore decided not to even defend the party again at such levels which in our opinion will be suicidal for our great Party. The begging question is; how can we even defend our Party when we have been neglected by our own appointees who are refusing to pick our calls or reply our messages.
It is in this regard that we the entire membership of NUTA respectfully call on the leadership of our great Party to as a matter of urgency find pragmatic ways in solving these concerns, which if not dealt with will send us back to opposition before our time. We also take this opportunity to call on fellow Tesconians not to lose hope in our party and government but rather continue to support and defend it at all cost. God bless our great party and strengthen us in unity.
Signed:
Fobi Gyekye – 0245882820 (President)
Oscar Baidoo Jnr – 0551101795 (Secretary)
Louis Koomson – 0249430618 (Operations)
Osei Kufour – 0242884571 (PRO)
