The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, has donated GHC 5,000 to each household affected by a devastating explosion in Odumase, near Konongo, in the Asante Akyem Central Municipality.

The explosion, which claimed three lives and left several others injured, reportedly began in a shop selling dynamite and other explosives used by local miners, causing a powerful blast that destroyed buildings and harmed multiple people.

While the current death toll stands at three, authorities confirmed that several injured victims, including firefighters, have been treated and discharged. However, five individuals remain hospitalized, and medical officials are considering referring two critically injured patients to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for further treatment.

During his visit to the scene on March 6, Dr. Amoakohene reassured the public that investigations are ongoing, and those responsible for the illegal sale of explosives will be apprehended.
