A downpour in the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has claimed multiple lives, including a rescue team dispatched in a helicopter to flood-affected areas.
Reports indicate that the death toll from the floods has exceeded 160 in the past 24 hours.
According to officials, the helicopter was on a rescue mission in the flood-hit province when it crashed due to bad weather, killing all five crew members.
The Pakistan helicopter crash adds to the growing number of aviation accidents worldwide. It is the fourth recorded helicopter crash in August, following incidents between the 6th and 7th of the month in Ghana, Kenya, and the United States.
