The Western Central Regional Police Command has apprehended three individuals in connection with a daring robbery near Jukwa.
On July 15, 2025, a Toyota Hilux pickup, registered GT 7426-23, was ambushed while transporting gold concentrate from a mining site to Wassa Akropong.
Onboard were the driver, Kofi Gyamfi, a security guard named Bashiru, and another passenger.
Following the attack, the robbers made off with the gold concentrate.
However, a prompt police response led to the arrest of one suspect at the scene, Foster Peprah, a small-scale miner.
Through interrogation, Foster disclosed that the operation was planned with another individual, Isaac, who is currently on the run.
He claimed the driver, Gyamfi, tipped them off about the vehicle’s movement.
Upon arrest, Gyamfi pointed to Bashiru as the true architect of the robbery.
Police later tracked and arrested Bashiru at his hideout in Wassa Gyedua.
All three suspects are now in custody assisting with ongoing investigations, while the search for Isaac continues.
