The Director-General of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), COP Lydia Yaako Donkor, has met with the management of Swedru School of Business and Obrachire Senior High Technical School following a recent violent clash involving students from the two institutions.
The engagement, convened by the Ghana Police Service, comes in the wake of public concern over the incident, which has drawn widespread attention.
During the meeting, COP Donkor stressed the need for calm and cooperation as police work to address the matter comprehensively.
She directed the management of Swedru School of Business to produce the students involved within 24 hours to assist with ongoing investigations.
According to her, compliance with the directive would ensure a swift and thorough handling of the case. She underscored the seriousness of the violence and warned of the potential consequences for those found culpable.
COP Donkor disclosed that formal investigations have commenced to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident and to identify all individuals connected to it.
She further indicated that the victim of the violence is currently responding to treatment.
Reaffirming the Service’s commitment to maintaining law and order, she assured the public that the Police will ensure accountability while promoting safety and discipline within educational institutions.
