President Akufo-Addo hosts German delegation to boost economic and democratic cooperation

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo welcomed a delegation of six German Members of Parliament to the Jubilee House in Accra on July 9, in a bid to further strengthen the longstanding relationship between Ghana and Germany. The meeting aims to explore opportunities for cooperation in key areas such as energy, trade, and democratic development.

President Akufo-Addo reiterated his commitment to deepening the already strong ties between the two nations, highlighting the potential for German businesses to establish a presence in Ghana and foster mutual economic growth.

He emphasized the importance of continued cooperation in the energy sector, leveraging Germany’s expertise to enhance Ghana’s energy infrastructure.

Additionally, he praised Germany for its unwavering support of Ghana’s democratic journey, acknowledging that since independence, Germany has never interfered in Ghana’s democratic processes.

President Akufo-Addo expressed his appreciation for Germany’s respect for Ghana’s sovereignty, underscoring the value of their partnership in promoting democracy and development.
