President Nana Akufo-Addo rewards Black Satellites with $ 330, 000

Ghana’s President Nana Akufo-Addo has rewarded each member of the Black Satellites $10,000 for winning the Africa U-20 Cup of Nations tournament.

The playing body and technical team made will receive a total of $330,000 for winning the title.

This was announced by the President when he met the playing body and technical staff at the Jubilee House on Tuesday.

“I know Nouakchott where you won the trophy is not a very friendly place but you managed to win the trophy and the country is very proud of your achievement.

“What the country is giving you is a token but it is something to tell you how happy Ghanaians are with what you have done.”, Nana Akufo-Addo heaped praises on the team.

Acccording to the President, $5,000 will be paid in cash whilst the other $5000 will be invested for the next 10 years.

Nana Akufo-Addo also mentioned a special package to some outstanding players and the coach following their impressive performance at the tournament.

He made a personal commitment of $5,000 each to these players Ibrahim Danlad, Afriyie Barnie, Abdul Fatawu, and Coach Abdul Karim Zito.

The players mentioned above received top awards after the tournament.

Apart from the players and the technical team, the GFA President, Kurt Okraku, and other senior members of the Ghana FA including the head of the Ghanaian team to the U-20 tournament, Dr. Randy Abbey and Ghana FA Executive Council member, Samuel Anim Addo, were also present.
