Prof Kobby Mensah takes on NAPO over ‘Parliament is for sensible people and not boxers comment’

Senior Lecturer at the University of Ghana Business School, Professor Kobby Mensah has hit hard at Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh, the Vice presidential Candidate of the NPP for denigrating boxers.

Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh while addressing a crowd of NPP supporters accused NDC Members of Parliament of sabotaging the government with their actions which has resulted in the indefinite suspension of Parliament.

NAPO as he is affectionately called alleged that some NDC Members threatened to get physical with them, a behavior that is not worthy of Membert of Parliament because the House is for sensible people and not boxers.

“NDC cannot go to the ballot box and win elections, so they started fighting in Parliament. Even supposedly sensible people were threatening to beat people who would sit on their chairs. If we wanted to be boxers, we would have gone to the boxing ring. Parliament is for sensible people, not for boxers. We don’t go to Parliament to fight. We go to Parliament to think for the country,” he said.

The inference of boxers not being sensible infuriated Professor Kobby Mensah who in a post sighted by Happy Sports said contrary to NAPO’s claim, the legendary Azumah Nelson has a higher IQ than most of them (politicians).

“Boxers aren’t sensible people. I definitely think Azumah Nelson, the professor of boxing, has an IQ level far outweighing what we are seeing,” he said.
