Fishermen in Senya Bereku in the Awutu Senya West District of the Central Region have expressed their heartfelt appreciation to His president John Dramani Mahama and his government for providing them with much-needed premix fuel.

This support comes after a difficult nine-month period of fuel scarcity.

Chairman of the Premix Fuel Committee, Richard Agyie, highlighted the relief and happiness among the fishermen.

“For the past nine months, there was no premix fuel for the fishermen here. We are immensely grateful to the Member of Parliament, who also serves as the Deputy Minister for Works and Housing, Hon. Gizella Agbotui Tetteh, and the Minister for Fisheries, Hon. Emelia Arthur, for their efforts.”

Mr. Agyie also called on President Mahama to address the dangers posed by the poorly constructed sea defense, which he claimed had become a death trap.

Gizella Tetteh Agbotui, MP for the Awutu Senya West Constituency, expressed her gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama and Minister Emelia Arthur for prioritizing the needs of her constituents.

She emphasized that the government’s intervention would eliminate the reliance on petrol for sea activities, which had posed significant risks.

“Our government holds the welfare of fishermen close to its heart, and we will continue to work for their benefit,” she stated.
