Fast rising South African actress, Angel Pooe is set to grace the cover of The Deal Magazine this August.

Interviewed by Yanda Cebisa, the actress will be talking about her life, business and connecting the entertainment scene in Africa with her upcoming deal.

  1. Briefly tell us, who is Angel Pooe and where does she come from? The upbringing.

Angel Pooe is a Tswana woman from Phokeng in Rusternburg, I grew up in a Christian home with both Mother and Father present with 4 Brothers and 1 sister. I have always wanted to be an actor after matric when to be trained at Mmabana Mmabatho in Mafikeng later moved to Johannesburg to pursue my dream of acting on stage and Television.

  1. When did you realize you wanted to get into acting and what motivated you?

I have always enjoyed being on stage, I started with ballroom dancing in school , then poetry and later narration in school plays. Every talent show and anything that had to do with acting/performing I was there.

What motivated me is that I knew if I work hard people would also watch me on their TV one day, apart from the fact that my little brother thought I am a good impersonator of Generations’s Karabo Moroka.

  1. As a young lady having accomplished such roles, who has been your inspiration in this journey?

Definitely Mrs Connie Ferguson, she is my inspiration to this day and the fact that she is business minded and loves her family sounds more like the woman that I have become, hence all the roles that I have been blessed to play were done in Setswana, I am a proud Tswana woman.

  1. Talk to us about your entrepreneurship journey?

Being an artist holistically is not easy and the money is not consistent, I have always loved good things that I can afford.

Business and good customer has always been what intrigued me, I started saving money from my performance and booking to start my own business of Cleaning and Detergents Supply to hire and help people from my village to also start their own businesses through my business.

  1. How has the journey been like, working in productions like The Queen, being an entrepreneur, just to mention a few?

It’s been a blessing, I am so humbled to this day that a young woman from Phokeng could be so lucky to work in all the production by The Fergusons and that my business has been doing so well that it got an international nomination.
