A truck carrying spare parts has burst into flames on Tema Motorway close to Accra Mall in the early hours of today, Friday, March 7, 2025.
The incident caused heavy traffic congestion on the motorway.
The Ghana National fire service responded swiftly and extinguished the fire to prevent it from spreading.
The cause of the fire is yet to be known as investigations begin.
The service cautioned motorists travelling from Accra to seek alternative routes to avoid time wasting.
“A truck carrying what appears to be some spare parts has been involved in fire and fire fighting is in progress. It has caused massive traffic on the motorway, so if you are coming from Accra towards the motorway, please avoid using the motorway and find alternative routes, “the service said in Facebook post.
