The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced updated travel guidelines for Ghanaians journeying to Senegal, clarifying that vaccination certificates are not a mandatory requirement for entry into the country.
In a statement issued on April 7, 2026, the Ministry explained that while vaccination against diseases such as yellow fever, DPT, measles, and hepatitis A and B is recommended, it is solely intended to protect the health and safety of travellers and is not a condition for entry into Senegal.
The Ministry indicated that the advisory follows communication from Senegalese authorities, who emphasized that travellers are encouraged to take necessary health precautions before embarking on their trips.
Ghanaians travelling to Senegal have therefore been urged to take note of the guidelines and ensure they are medically prepared, as part of efforts to promote their well-being during travel.
The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding the welfare of Ghanaian citizens abroad and encouraged all travellers to comply with the entry and health requirements of their destination countries.
