A group calling itself Arise Ghana, says individuals in the country could opt to solve the nation’s persistent issues but “no individual has been given the power to do so.”
Lead Convener of Arise Ghana, Mark Ewusi Arkoh says governments are voted into power to resolve issues plaguing a nation and are given the appropriate power to effect change.
“Arise Ghana as a group is concerned about the persistent issues suffered by the Ghanaian people. These persistent issues are the reasons we voted for the government. As an individual, I can say I want to resolve these problems but I don’t have the power to do so.
That’s why we have accepted democracy and have seen the essence of voting government’s into power. So if things are not working at the end of the day, then it is just right we hold the government accountable because it makes appointments into various sectors when it comes to the economy and governance.”
According to him, these persistent issues do not necessarily fall at the doorsteps of the NPP but any government which comes to power.
A newly formed nationalist group, Arise-Ghana, says remaining silent over the happenings in Ghana is no more an option any patriotic citizen should consider.
According to the group, the country has come to a point where all patriotic citizens ought to speak up in order to put duty bearers on their toes.
