The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has reportedly detained a car dealer with alleged business connections to Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi.

This development was revealed by the Deputy General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Haruna Mohammed, during a media briefing earlier today. According to Mohammed, the individual in question is a well-known vehicle dealer who has previously sold cars to the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP on multiple occasions.

While the exact reasons for EOCO’s interest in the car dealer remain unclear, the situation adds another dimension to ongoing investigations into financial activities linked to prominent political figures.

Mohammed assured that the party is closely monitoring events and remains committed to cooperating with lawful authorities as needed.

Attempts to obtain an official comment from EOCO on the matter have so far been unsuccessful.
