The Ghana Fencing Team has started preparations ahead of the upcoming Commonwealth Games in London.
The home based Fencers will go into residential camping on July 20 2022 while the foreign-based Fencers will be preparing at their respective locations and meet the team in UK for the games.
The list of players in camp are Shaibu Ibrahim, Bashiru Iddrisu and Venus Tawiah while the forieng are Helman Oppong, Samba Alhassan and Kelsey Woname
In an interview with Happy FM, The President of Ghana Fencing Association, Mohammed Mahadi revealed Ghana’s readiness for the upcoming event
“Our athletes are in their various training for the games though we have not call for residential camping but we have athletes who are in UK and USA preparing for the championship and home-base Fencers will start residential camping on 20 July 2022 ahead of the games.
“We are ready to showcase Ghana flag at London”.
The Commonwealth Games start on August 9th – 20th August 2022 at the University of East London, SportsDock Campus, London, England
The Championships comprises of Senior, Veteran, Junior, Cadet and Wheelchair
