The Parliament of Ghana has announced the passing of the Member of Parliament for Ayawaso East, Naser Toure Mahama, describing his death as a significant loss to the nation and the House.

In a press statement issued on behalf of the Speaker, the Leadership of Parliament, and the Parliamentary Service, Parliament said Mr. Mahama was a dedicated public servant whose commitment to national development and the welfare of his constituents remained unwavering throughout his time in office.

The statement noted that the late MP served with diligence, integrity, and a strong sense of responsibility, making meaningful contributions to parliamentary work and advocating for development projects aimed at improving the lives of the people of Ayawaso East.

“His contributions to the House, his advocacy for development projects, and his tireless efforts to improve the lives of the people he represented will be remembered,” Parliament said, adding that he embodied the true spirit of service and philanthropy.

Parliament extended its deepest condolences to the family of the late MP, his colleagues in Parliament, his constituents, and all who were touched by his work and humanity, noting that this is a difficult period for both Parliament and the people of Ayawaso East.

The statement further offered prayers for the repose of his soul, asking the Almighty Allah to grant him eternal rest and to give his family and loved ones the strength to bear the loss.

Parliament also appealed to the media and the general public to respect the privacy of the bereaved family and to refrain from sensational reporting as they mourn their loss.
