NPP flagbearer hopeful, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has appealed to members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Atwima Nwabiagya South Constituency to remain united as the party approaches its flagbearer election scheduled for January 31.
Addressing delegates during a campaign visit, Dr. Bawumia cautioned against internal insults and personal attacks, stressing that divisions arising from the flagbearership contest could weaken the party’s chances in the 2026 general elections.
“We should not insult or attack ourselves just because of a flagbearer election. If we do that, it will be difficult to bring everyone together for the general election,” he said.
Dr. Bawumia urged delegates to vote with a clear conscience and to remember his contributions to the party and the country. He appealed for their support, saying they should consider him as a trustworthy candidate who deserves their mandate.
“I humbly ask you to remember me when you go to vote and give me the opportunity to lead the party,” he added.
