The Deputy Minister for Defence, Ernest Brogya Genfi, has commended the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) for their professionalism, discipline, and tactical excellence displayed during the 2025 Land Combat Fire Power Demonstration held at the Bundase Training Camp on Friday, October 31.
In a Facebook post, Mr. Genfi described the event as a powerful showcase of discipline, strategy, and professionalism, a testament to the enduring strength and readiness of our Armed Forces.
The Land Combat Fire Power Demonstration is an annual exercise designed to test the operational readiness of the Ghana Army and ensure the nation’s forces remain well-prepared to defend the country’s territorial integrity.
The event brought together top military officials, including the Chief of the Defence Staff, Lieutenant General William Agyepong, the Chief of the Army Staff, Major General Lawrence Kwaku Gbetanu, senior officers, both serving and retired, and other ranks of the Ghana Armed Forces.
Mr. Genfi highlighted government’s commitment to strengthening the nation’s defence capabilities, announcing that a comprehensive retooling and modernization programme will commence next year under the leadership of President John Dramani Mahama.
“I reiterated the commitment of the Commander-in-Chief, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, that the Ghana Armed Forces shall undergo a retooling and modernization drive beginning next year, the likes of which has never been witnessed in our history,” he said.
The Deputy Minister noted that the level of precision and coordination exhibited by the troops reflected the potential of the Armed Forces when backed by visionary leadership and the right resources.
He, however, reminded personnel of the need to uphold discipline at all times, describing it as “the soul of the military.”
“Every soldier and officer must uphold the highest standards of conduct and protect the image of our revered Armed Forces,” Mr. Genfi stressed.
