Organizers of the prestigious Miss Ghana beauty pageant, Exclusive Events Ghana Limited, has officially launched the 65th edition of the contest under the theme, “the evolution of beauty and the life changing experience”.

The event launch which was held on Thursday, the 10th of March, 2022 at the Tang Palace Hotel, Airport Residential Area, saw the attendance of many dignitaries including Nana Akosua Frimponmaa Sarpong Kumankuma the National Chair and Leader of the CPP, Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mr. Mark Okraku Mantey, among others.

The Miss Ghana beauty pageant, Ghana’s longest standing beauty contest, allows the Ghanaian woman the platform to impact society positively in her own way with support from the Miss Ghana Foundation which is the registered charity arm of the Miss Ghana Beauty Pageant. The pageant also gives the winner the opportunity to further contest for the Miss World contest as Ghana’s representative.

Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Exclusive Events Ghana, Inna Mariam Patty, announced at the launch the opening for entries, and called for interested ladies to come pick a form for the pageant. “Interested ladies can kindly visit our website www.Missghana.com.gh for further details and requirements. Please remember, terms and conditions always apply”, she said.

She also noted that the concept of the public contributing to crowning a queen shall be done primarily via voting on the Miss Ghana app and voting can be done from any location. Voting, according to her, shall constitute 40% of the total votes up until the quarter finals. Inna again made mention of people being awarded randomly for voting.

Giving a speech to officially launch the event, was Honorable Mark Okraku Mantey who said, “People have been groomed through beauty pageants. They’ve had some coaching, some publicity, talents have been nurtured, some have become stars overnight, beauty pageants have given some of these people networks. Out of beauty pageants, you get to meet a lot of people and you must take advantage of the people you meet. It also promotes culture, our music, fashion, entertainment, and has created jobs for people. We must work together to make sure that pageants survive because it’s an ecosystem and whether you like it or not, you stand a chance of benefitting from that ecosystem when pageantry survives”.

From this, Honorable Mark Okraku encouraged Corporate Ghana, individual entities and everyone to support the cause in their own way to make sure that pageants survive in Ghana because beauty pageants, as he sees it, help greatly in promoting the nation’s development.

ATL, as sponsors of the Miss Ghana pageant, promised to unveil a special cloth collection for this edition to commemorate the 65th anniversary of the beauty pageant.
