First Lady, Lordina Mahama, has marked Mother’s Day with a heartfelt message, celebrating the strength, sacrifices, and unwavering dedication of mothers across the nation.

She also reaffirmed her commitment to empowering women and vulnerable groups, ensuring that they receive the support needed to thrive.

In her official statement on Sunday, May 11, Mrs. Mahama praised mothers for their critical role in nation-building, recognizing the challenges they face daily while striving for the well-being of their families and communities.

“My dear mothers, I know your daily efforts and challenges as you strive to build better lives for yourselves and your families. The well-being of our homes and children is intrinsically linked to the progress and stability of our nation”.

Mrs. Mahama emphasized her dedication to women’s empowerment through skills training, economic support, and advocacy, promising to extend assistance to vulnerable groups, including children and persons living with HIV/AIDS.

She also highlighted the government’s and the Lordina Foundation’s ongoing efforts to improve healthcare infrastructure, particularly the modernization of maternity and children’s wards in hospitals, ensuring mothers and children receive the best possible care.

“My commitment to supporting women and vulnerable groups in Ghana remains as strong as ever. Ensuring that mothers receive the best possible care during pregnancy and childbirth and that our children have access to quality health services is a cause very close to my heart, and I will continue to champion it”.

The First Lady assured mothers that their resilience, strength, and love are deeply appreciated by their families, communities, and the nation.
