Member of Parliament for Nkwanta North Constituency in the Volta Region, Mr. John Kwabena Oti Bless has affirmed the new Ghana card to be an initiative of the New Patriotic Party to regain power in the next election.
Speaking on the ‘Epahoa Daben Show’ the former Deputy Minister for Local Government and Rural Development said “Ken Attafuah, the Executive Secretary for the National Identification Authority (NIA) met both the majority and minority in parliament and made it clear to them, that the data of the Ghana card will be used in registering Ghanaians for election 2020. “Which is a violation the constitution, article 45”, he added.
He said it is only the electoral commission that has the mandate to determine ways to register people for elections. No individual or the president or no other organization has the right in coming out with methods to register people unto the national register.
“Instead of the NPP working to make the dollar become stable in terms of rating, they are rather focusing on destroying the NDC so as to win the 2020 elections”, he added.
Mr. Oti Bless is with the view that, the fear of loss of power in 2020 is compelling the New Patriotic Party make unhealthy decisions. “Their loss of power will shock everyone in the world”, he said.
