Director of Structural Transformation Consultancy Firm, Bismark Osei has applauded the efforts of the Minister of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations for continuous demands for a price reduction in DsTV bouquet packages.

The economist speaking on Happy 98.9FM’s Happy Morning Show with Kwadwo Sefah-Danquah, explained that every product and service brought into Ghana, meet a number of regulations enforced by the government of Ghana. The service rendered by MultiChoice Ghana to Ghanaians must also be placed under regulations to ensure an orderly delivery of service.

According to the economist, the government’s efforts to reach a consensus with MultiChoice Ghana has met no attention and therefore serves as a premise for any penal resort. “I think the government has not acted inappropriately because they have tried to engage them for over a month to two months and they have been trying,” he said.

He noted that these actions send a message to all manner of investors across the globe about Ghana and its firm mode of operation on the delivery of goods and services. “I don’t think they have done anything that doubts investor confidence. When you go to any country, they make sure every investor does the right thing. The government made an effort to reach negotiations and they refused.”
