Happy98.9FM, Ghana’s number-one radio station celebrated mothers on Mother’s Day with amazing giveaways.

Listeners were requested to compose a song and sing in appreciation of their mothers where the best lyrics won amazing gifts for their mothers.

The competition dubbed: “Sing for Mama” was designed to honour mothers and showcase the musical talents of their children.

The finals held at the HappyFM studios on Sunday, May 12,2024 saw six finalists compete for the grand prize.

Families of all six contestants were present to cheer and support their loved ones.

Out of the over hundred tunes received, six individuals, namely, Maame Adjoa, Linda Annan, Joseph Mensah, Brezia Ahoma, Kwesi Hammond and Nana Ama topped the list with their most heartfelt lyrics and received gifts for their mothers.

After several rounds of the competition, the best three were adjudged winners.

Maame Ajoa who came first won a hamper full of goodies and a motivational journal, Nana Ama who had second place went home with a deep fryer and a motivational journal whilst Kwesi Hammond, the last standing also went away with a kettle and a motivational journal.

Programs Manager for HappyFM, Kwabena Ampong appreciated all listeners who participated in the competition to win gifts for their mothers.

“The Sing for Mama Competition is not only a celebration of Mother’s Day but also a celebration of music and the special bond between mothers and their children. I want to use this opportunity to thank all participants and listeners for being part of this event to create unforgettable memories and appreciate mothers. I say Ayekoo to those who won and best of luck to others who couldn’t make it to the top. You are all winners in your own special way but the ultimate prize has to be given to one person, good luck next time and we wish you well in all your endeavours” he said.
