NSA denies ‘special posting’ claims, warns against fraudsters

The National Service Authority (NSA) has dismissed widespread claims suggesting that prospective service personnel can pay for “special postings,” describing such solicitations as fraudulent and urging the public to report anyone involved in the practice.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, December 10, the Authority stressed that it does not engage in ‘Special Postings’ nor charge personnel money to be posted or reposted to their preferred institutions.

Instead, all placements are executed through a transparent, automated, and merit-based system strictly guided by national service regulations.

The NSA warned that any individual or group demanding payment for postings is operating outside the law and must be reported to security agencies immediately.

The NSA also highlighted several measures taken to assist prospective personnel during the ongoing registration process.

To resolve discrepancies in personal information including changes in names and dates of birth the NSA partnered with the National Identification Authority (NIA) and the Ghana Publishing Company to establish a dedicated help desk at its headquarters.

This initiative, according to the statement, significantly eased the rectification process, while negotiations undertaken by the NSA also led to a reduction in Gazette service charges to lessen the financial burden on personnel.

In a move to modernise operations, the NSA collaborated with the Ghana Publishing Company to digitalize the gazette process through an e-gazette platform, allowing personnel to address Gazette-related issues online.

Furthering its commitment to efficiency, the NSA has set up special support desks at all Regional Offices, alongside a dedicated IT desk at its headquarters.

These desks they stated became operational on Monday, December 8, and will continue to address documentation and technical issues ahead of the registration deadline on Friday, December 12.

While personnel may walk into any regional office for assistance, the help desk at the NSA headquarters will operate on an appointment basis to prevent long queues.

Affected individuals are therefore encouraged to book time slots through the NSA support phone lines or an online Google form.

Personnel requiring support can contact the NSA Call Center via the following helplines: 0554404422, 0554400078, 0554400069. Assistance will be offered through both walk-in sessions at the headquarters and virtual support channels.

The NSA expressed appreciation to all prospective service personnel for their cooperation and reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring a seamless and transparent registration and posting process.
