The Ministry of Roads and Highways has announced another scheduled closure along the Ofankor–Nsawam dual carriageway the second within the first week of December 2025 as asphalt works continue on the busy corridor.
The latest closure affects the Ofankor to White House stretch, and will run from Monday, December 8 to Sunday, December 14, 2025. The Ministry says the shutdown is necessary to allow contractors to undertake critical asphaltic works on a 2-kilometre section of the road.
All traffic will be diverted onto the Service Road between the Ofankor Overpass and White House, with road users assured that directional signs and personnel will be stationed along the route to maintain order and minimise congestion.
This follows an earlier 12-hour closure on Saturday, December 6, 2025, when traffic on the Nsawam-bound lane between Achimota Neoplan and Pokuase was diverted to the Service Road to enable asphalt overlay work. That exercise was carried out by Maripoma Enterprise Limited, contractors on the Ofankor–Nsawam Dual Carriageway Rehabilitation Project.
The Ministry has urged motorists to comply with traffic instructions and exercise caution while using the diversion route throughout the six-day closure.
Authorities also apologised for inconvenience caused to commuters and appealed for public cooperation as rehabilitation works continue.
