A tragic incident occurred at Kinbu Senior High School in Accra on Thursday, July 31, 2025, resulting in the death of a student following a violent altercation during school hours.

The deceased, identified as Addib Alhassan, was reportedly involved in a heated argument with another student that escalated into a physical confrontation. During the scuffle, Addib sustained a stab wound.

He was rushed to Ridge Hospital for emergency medical attention but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

The news of the fatal incident has sent shockwaves through the school and the wider Accra community, prompting an outpouring of grief and concern.

In the immediate aftermath, groups of distraught and angry youth stormed the school premises demanding answers and justice for the deceased. Security personnel were quickly deployed to restore calm and prevent further escalation.

The grieving family of Addib Alhassan has called on the Ghana Education Service (GES) and the Ghana Police Service to conduct a full and transparent investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident. They are urging authorities to ensure that those responsible are brought to justice.

As a precautionary measure, Kinbu SHS has been placed under heightened security, and academic activities have been temporarily suspended as investigations continue.

Authorities have assured the public of their commitment to uncovering the truth and preventing similar incidents in the future.
