The Ghana Supporters Union have drawn the attention of the Ghanaian social media community to the ill habitation conditions they are in, as supporters of the Black Stars in Cote D’Ivoire for the AFCON 2023

The Ghana Supporters Union (GHANSU), is an elite group of dedicated Ghanaians who stand as a supporters’ union of all national sports activities.

In a viral video spotted by happyghana.com, a member reveals that they were transported to the host nation by bus, and were charged 80 cedis per head. “Some of us were charged GHC 80.00 by the executives of the Ghana Supporters Union for our in and out and were transported by bus; since we arrived, we have been abandoned to fend for ourselves.”

The supporters called on the government to come to their aid and provide them with better habitation conditions . “We have called upon the government several times to come to our aid but we have not received a response from them; we have taken this charge upon ourselves to support the Black Stars and cheer them; we need better treatment.” she lamented.

The African continent’s major men’s football tournament, Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2023 kicked off on Saturday, January 13, 2024.

The Black Stars of Ghana are scheduled to face Mozambique tonight, at the Alassane Ouattara Stadium, 8:00PM GMT.
