1985/87 Year Group of Prempeh College Old Students Association congratulates NAPO

The 1985/87 Year Group of Prempeh College Old Students Association has expressed joy about the appointment of their esteemed classmate, Senior Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh (Napo), as Vice Presidential candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP). The group has offered their heartfelt congratulations and support to their brother and friend, wishing him all the best in this remarkable achievement and in all his future endeavors.

NAPO, joined the school in September 1980, graduating Form 5 in 1985 and Sixth Form in 1987, as a proud member of Guggisberg House. His dedication to Prempeh College and the Old Students fraternity (Amanfoo) has been outstanding, earning him the highest honor with the naming of the “Matthew Opoku Prempeh House” in 2023, a testament to his unwavering commitment and excellence.

NAPO’s political career has been marked by significant milestones, including his service as Member of Parliament for Manhyia constituency (2009-2012) and Manhyia South constituency (2013-present), Minister of Education (2017-2020), and Minister of Energy (2021-present). His impressive political trajectory has culminated in his appointment as running mate to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for the 2024 general elections, a testament to his leadership and dedication.

The 1985/87 Year Group said “NAPO’s achievements have brought immense pride to Prempeh College, our fellow alumni, and the entire Amanfoo community”. The Group added that, they have unwavering confidence in NAPO’s capability to excel as the running mate to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and fulfill his aspiration of becoming the next Vice President of the Republic of Ghana.

The Class of 1985/87 of the Prempeh College Old Students Association added, “We extends our heartfelt congratulations to you, NAPO, and offer prayers for God’s wisdom, guidance, and protection throughout your political journey”.
