A congregation ceremony has been held for graduate students of the Galore College of Education who successfully completed their programmes in the 2019 academic year.

The overall number of graduates was 700, of the total, 200 students received first-class honors upon graduation.

The ceremony presided over by James Appiah, President of the University congratulated the graduating students and urged the students to take stock of what they have achieved and make a conscious decision to let their experiences at the university count in their future endeavours.

He also highlighted the commitment of the university to remove barriers that restrict access and success in university-level studies through excellence in teaching, research, and scholarship.

Mr Appiah also urged the graduates not to economize in their pursuit of excellence, as higher education, as a marketplace for knowledge, is essential for developing critical thinkers, inquisitive and imaginative minds, and rigorous application of knowledge to address pressing issues in society.

“The university can only certify you for successfully completing your studies; only you can confirm whether your mind is equally certified to solve teething problems and to address the problems facing your country. As such, you must first ask yourself what compelling impact would you want to make with your acquired degree,” he continued.

Again, he urged the graduates to let their hard work and dedication reflect in everything they do and always proceed in truth and integrity to make the Galore College of Education proud.

He expressed appreciation to faculty members, tutors, and administrators who worked hard to provide the necessary support for graduands to successfully complete their studies.
