The Acting Minister for Defence, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, has assured officers and men of the joint security services of the government’s commitment to improving their welfare, operational capacity and working conditions.

He said the government recognises the critical role security personnel play in safeguarding the country and will continue to invest in measures that enable them to discharge their duties effectively and with pride.

Dr Forson gave the assurance while addressing officers during a debriefing exercise after a joint security services route march through the principal streets of Accra.

“As you return to your various stations, I urge you to carry forward the spirit of unity demonstrated today,” he said, adding that the cooperation shown during the exercise should reflect in joint operations, mutual respect, information sharing and support among the various services.

The exercise brought together personnel from the Ghana Police Service, Ghana Armed Forces (GAF), Ghana National Fire Service, Ghana Immigration Service, Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority, and the Ghana Prisons Service.

According to Dr. Forson sustained collaboration and trust among security agencies are essential to addressing the country’s evolving security challenges.

Ato Forson also commended the officers for their commitment and professionalism, noting that their dedication continues to strengthen national security and public confidence.

He prayed for God’s protection and guidance for the security personnel, expressing hope that the peace of the Christmas season would renew their strength as they continue to serve the nation.
