Vice Chairman of the National Circles Committee, Nana Kwame Dankwa has lauded the contributions of the team’s leader, Asante Kotoko captain Richard Boadu affectionately called Agadas.

In the wake of the departure of the Asante Kotoko’s skipper , who recently made a move to Libyan club Al Ahly SC, Nana Kwame Dankwa praised the player, emphasizing that he has undoubtedly paid his dues for the club.

Nana Kwame Dankwa in an interview on Happy FM highlighted Agadas’ significant impact on the local scene and acknowledged his dedication and commitment to Asante Kotoko over the years.

“He is one of the players who I can say on the local scene has paid his dues, and he is also aging, and if such opportunities come and they are denied him, it becomes a problem,” Nana Kwame Dankwa said.

He acknowledged the challenges faced by aging players in their pursuit of new opportunities.

The departure of Richard Boadu, who was an integral part of Asante Kotoko’s midfield, leaves a void that Agadas will need to step up and fill. Boadu’s transfer to Al Ahly SC was confirmed in an official statement released by the club on Friday morning.

The 25-year-old midfielder joined Asante Kotoko ahead of the 2021/22 season and played a pivotal role in ending the club’s eight-year trophy drought by clinching the Ghana Premier League title.

Nana Kwame Dankwa further disclosed that before the start of the previous season, Agadas garnered significant interest from numerous clubs, but a potential transfer did not materialize. Despite the challenges, the captain remained committed to Asante Kotoko, demonstrating his loyalty and love for the club.

Asante Kotoko’s decision to part ways with Boadu presents an opportunity for Agadas to showcase his leadership skills and experience on the field. The vice-chairman expressed his hope that the club would continue to value and respect the contributions of the seasoned captain and offer him support in the twilight of his playing career.

The sentiment shared by Nana Kwame Dankwa reflects the adoration and admiration Agadas has garnered from fans and fellow teammates. With his unwavering dedication and loyalty to Asante Kotoko, the captain has become a symbol of inspiration for young talents and a pillar of stability for the club.

As the transfer window remains open, the focus now shifts to how Asante Kotoko will augment their squad to maintain their competitive edge in the upcoming season. For now, the spotlight shines brightly on Asante Kotoko captain Agadas, as the veteran midfielder continues to lead and inspire the team both on and off the pitch.
