Director of Broadcast at Global Media Alliance Broadcasting Company; Dr. Timothy Karikari, has hosted the second edition of Industry Connect; an interactive learning engagement designed to connect learning to real-world business, communications, and HR practice.
Held on October 18, 2025, at the Chartered Institute of Human Resource Management (CIHRM) in Tse Addo, Industry Connect 2.0 brought together students of the Level 1 Weekend Class studying Introduction to Human Resource Management and industry experts. The initiative forms part of Dr. Karikari’s personal social responsibility and his commitment to nurturing ethical, versatile professionals equipped for leadership in today’s workplace.

“As a leader, I see Communications and HR as the human face of business strategy,” Dr. Karikari explained. “This initiative helps students understand how HR principles and policies are applied in different industries. It also defines how HR interacts with marketing, communication, and organizational culture across varied work places”.
This year’s edition featured three alumni of the institute who are excelling in their respective careers: Fafa Gbeho, Head of HR at Global Media Alliance; Joseph Kwesi Sam, HR Manager at Atlantic Catering and Logistics; and Kwaku Owusu Opoku, Consulting Partner at Future HR & Business Solutions.

Delivering the welcome remarks, CIHRM Programmes Administrator Ama Pimpong reaffirmed the Institute’s dedication to professional development and applauded Dr. Karikari for sustaining the program. She also lauded the notable fact that all featured speakers were distinguished graduates of CIHRM.
The session covered high-level discussions on vital HR topics, including employee engagement, talent management, effective union collaboration, and the importance of mastering relevant laws and policies. The event was highly interactive, allowing students to actively engage the distinguished speakers on practical workplace challenges.
Now in its second year, Industry Connect has become an anticipated feature of Dr. Karikari’s course, embodying his broader philosophy of using business leadership, communications, and HR insights to shape ethical and effective professionals for the future of work. The success of the program is underpinned by Dr. Karikari’s unique professional background. With professional roots and advanced studies in the field, he began his career as an HR Business Partner/Lead before expanding into business, marketing and communications leadership. Today, he leads the broadcast brands of the GMA Group (YFM, Happy FM, YTV, and Eproductions) and directs marketing, communications, and activation campaigns for major clients across multiple industries.
