The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced that a rerun of the Kpandai Parliamentary Election will take place on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, in compliance with a High Court directive.
This follows the Tamale High Court ruling on November 24, 2025, ordering a rerun of the 2024 Parliamentary election within 30 days after identifying irregularities that materially affected the outcome.
In a statement signed by Fred Tetteh, Deputy Director of the Research, Monitoring and Evaluation Department, the EC confirmed that it received formal notification of the vacancy from the Clerk to Parliament on Tuesday, December 9, 2025. The Commission subsequently declared the seat vacant, clearing the way for a fresh poll.
The rerun will involve only the original three candidates who contested the 2024 parliamentary election in the constituency.
The Commission assured the public of its readiness to conduct the election and encouraged all stakeholders to support a peaceful, transparent and credible process.
