The family of the late Defence Minister, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, has appealed to government to honour his legacy by completing the Eastern Regional Hospital project at Koforidua-Effiduase and naming a ward after him.
According to Mponuahemaa of Effiduase, Nana Adusi Pokua Antwiwaa II, the late Defence Minister, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah was a distinguished medical doctor.
“We suggest to government to erect a huge statue and name the roundabout in Effiduase as Dr. Omane Boamah Roundabout. We also think a ward in the new hospital can be named after him because he was a medical doctor” Nana Adusi Pokuase Antwiwaa III suggested.
Dr. Boamah died in a tragic helicopter crash on August 6, 2025, alongside seven others while en route to a national assignment.
His death has plunged the Eastern Region and the nation into mourning.
