The Ghana Education Service (GES) has relieved of the Assistant Headmaster (Academics) of Nkwatia Presby SHS his duties over alleged assault of a female student.

The GES also condemned the alleged assault.

The GES in a statement said it was “disturbed” by the video and that it “unequivocally condemns the actions of the Assistant Headmaster.”

The GES further stated that an investigation into the incident was being conducted by the Eastern Regional Director of Education in coordination with the relevant law enforcement agency and the school administration.

The GES gave the general public the reassurance that it was committed to making sure that all students across the nation had a safe and secure learning environment.

The encounter was caught on camera, and it has since gained popularity on social media. According to the footage, the girl, who is thought to be a second-year student, is being slapped and physically assaulted by the Assistant Headmaster.
