Former midfielder of Hearts of Oak, Joe Tagoe popularly known as Bobby Short has praised the rapid transformation of goalkeeper Benjamin Asare.
According to Bobby Short, playing in the FIFA World Cup qualifiers has boasted Benjamin Asare’s confidence and that has impacted his performance for Accra Hearts of Oak in the Ghana Premier League.
“Benjamin Asare, the way his confidence has reached now, everyone will testify that now he is very superb. Sometimes I tell a lot of people that as a goalkeeper, it is not a show like diving here and there,” Bobby Short said.
He urged other goalkeepers in the Ghana Premier League to learn from Benjamin Asare because being a good goalkeeper goes beyond diving to save a shot at goal.
“You can see that from the way he communicates. The way he talks to defenders, the way he organises them – seriously, if you look at that aspect, it is very commendable. I believe that his performances are very good,” he told Happy FM.
Benjamin Asare made his Black Stars debut in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Chad in March 2025 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
