The New Patriotic Party’s (NPP), Member of Parliament for the Assin Central constituency in the Central Region, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, has officially thrown his support behind Vice President and flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

Mr. Agyapong, who previously contested in the NPP’s 2023 presidential primaries, joined Dr. Bawumia’s 3-day campaign trail in the Ashanti Region on Tuesday, June 11 2024.

The Ashanti Regional visit marks the climax of Vice President Bawumia’s campaign tour, covering all 16 regions of Ghana.

This tour is hailed as the first phase of the NPP’s campaign strategy for the upcoming elections.

Mr. Agyapong’s inclusion in the campaign signals a significant push for Dr. Bawumia’s bid for the presidency.

Mr. Agyapong has maintained a relatively low profile within the party after his unsuccessful bid to lead the NPP in the 2024 general election. However, his active participation in the campaign underscores the party’s unity and determination to secure victory in the upcoming polls.
