The GFA Secretariat was abuzz with anticipation on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, as the draw for the preliminary round of the MTN FA Cup unfolded, revealing a captivating lineup of matches that promise to set the nation’s football scene on fire.

In a strategic move to enhance regional and proximity-based excitement, clubs have been thoughtfully grouped, paving the way for a series of intensely competitive local derbies at various venues. Football enthusiasts can brace themselves for a display of exceptional talent and fervent rivalries as teams battle it out for a coveted spot in the next round.

The much-anticipated clashes are scheduled to kick off from Friday, October 27, through to Monday, October 30, 2023. Among the fixtures that stand out, fans can look forward to a heated showdown between Wa Suntaa and their local counterparts, Maana, in Wa. Meanwhile, Tamale is poised to host an epic battle between Steadfast and Tamale City.

Akim Tafo will be the backdrop for an exhilarating face-off between Okwawu United and Kotoku Royals FC, and Beposo will bear witness to the high-intensity contest between Asekem FC and King Faisal.

The victors of this preliminary round will earn the privilege of progressing to the Round of 64, where they will stand shoulder to shoulder with the elite 18 Premier League Clubs in the MTN FA Cup competition.
