In an exclusive revelation, Happy Sports has uncovered a concerning financial oversight impacting the Ghana Premier League (GPL) and Division 1 referees.

Reliable sources confirm that referees in the Ghana Premier League have not received payments from Match day 20 through to Match day 34. Similarly, Division 1 referees have been unpaid from Match week 15 through to Match week 30.

This delay in payments is particularly troubling given that the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season concluded two months ago, and the new season is set to kick off within the next two months.

Adding to the gravity of the situation, referees have been lamenting that the lack of payments has severely affected their ability to prepare for the upcoming season. Specifically, they have been unable to complete their necessary medical examinations.

The 2024/25 season is set to commence on 6 September, 2024.

Happy Sports will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as more information becomes available.
