The Ghana Paralympic Association has unveiled its contingent of athletes for the 2026 Commonwealth Games, scheduled to take place in Glasgow.
Five athletes, Haruna Tahiru, Bosto Nkegbe, Zinabu Hayford, and Promise Ahator have been selected to represent Ghana. Each athlete will receive GH¢10,000 to support their preparations for the Games.
Speaking on behalf of the athletes, Bosto Nkegbe expressed appreciation for the financial support, describing it as unprecedented and a significant source of motivation from the president.

Mr. Samson Deen, President of the Africa Paralympic Committee and the Ghana Paralympic Association, emphasized the importance of supporting the athletes in their quest for excellence.
He also stressed the need for discipline among the athletes, cautioning that a lack of discipline could negatively affect their performance.
Mr. Deen further highlighted the value of investing in para sports, noting that even a small portion of the resources allocated to football could significantly enhance the development of the sector.
